Sportsbook supplier BETBY has launched SlotBets, a new interface that could turn esports betting into a casino style slot game experience.
“SlotBets transforms live sports and esports into a simple, fast, and familiar slot experience,” the company said.
It promises its partners to bridge the gap between sports betting and casino gaming. “Watching sports becomes an interactive gaming session, not just passive betting,” it added.
Esports make up a key part of BETBY’s product; in addition to major events, the company also offers gambling operators its Betby.Games propriety feed. This includes 25 virtual sports, with the additions of eKabbadi, eTableTennis, and eFootVolley last year.
Constant interaction during live matches
BETBY will officially showcase its new product at the SBC Summit in Lisbon at the end of this month. It was initially tested with basketball games, but plans are in place to roll out the feature to other sports.
With expanded live betting options on esports and virtual games, these are likely to be near the top of the list for integration.
“Our ambition goes beyond launching one new product. We believe SlotBets Games can develop its own recognizable mechanics, terminology, and player expectations, in the same way that categories such as Crash Games did before,” said Kirill Nekrasov, Head of Innovation and R&D at BETBY. “We are introducing a new way to play sports, and we call it slotbetting.”
The company’s dedicated SlotBets page says over 500 clients are already on board.
Sport events used to determine slot spins
SlotBets works by tying 15-second betting rounds directly to a live sporting event. Each round is divided into three five-second windows that represent three reels. Each reel highlights the highest-value event that takes place within its window.
Once the 15 seconds have passed, the combination from the three reels with matching outcomes produces payouts depending on the game’s paytable.
This replaces the traditional random number generators (RNG) that determine the outcome of slots. Real-life events are being used, alowing users to essentially play online slots even in regions that only allow sports betting.
Prediction market slots could be next
The expansion of prediction markets into sports has led many to believe that casino-style markets will soon come to platforms.
Esports events are competing with major leagues for trading volume on platforms such as Polymarket and Kalshi.
The BETBY interface provides a blueprint of how operators may look to integrate the mechanics of casino games into markets.
Prediction markets have found a way to offer sports markets in states that have not yet legalized online sports wagering. BETBY’s product could offer players even more gambling experiences that do not necessarily fall outside current restrictive regulations.
For now, it appears the company is only supplying sportsbook operators. BETBY is licensed in Malta and supplies operators worldwide. The company largely supplies gambling companies in Europe, Asia, and South America with its products.
