The Jordan Esports Federation (JEF) has signed a memorandum of understanding with King Hussein Business Park (KHBP) in Amman, giving the national body a formal framework to stage more tournaments and events at the site it already calls home.
What the agreement covers
KHBP announced the deal on Sunday in a statement published on its website. Prince Omar bin Faisal, who is President of the JEF, attended the signing.
Under the MoU, the federation and the business park will jointly host and organise specialised competitions on the KHBP campus. They will also receive the international delegations and official guests that travel to those events. Beyond the competitive side, the two organisations plan to cooperate on media and marketing, look at shared education, training and community projects, and swap knowledge and expertise.
Neither party has disclosed financial terms or the length of the agreement.
What both sides said
KHBP CEO Eng. Ammar Ezzeddin presented the MoU as part of the park’s wider ambitions. “This partnership builds on our ongoing efforts to create an enabling environment for institutions, initiatives and high-potential sectors, and to establish KHBP as a hub for innovation and technology,” he said.
He added: “We look forward to helping the sector thrive and to hosting more tournaments and events that put Jordanian talent in the spotlight and raise the Kingdom’s profile in this field.”
JEF Vice President Hazem Bawab focused on the competitive and grassroots goals. “This partnership is a significant step in our drive to develop the esports industry in Jordan and elevate the standard of local, regional and international competitions and activities,” he said.
Bawab continued: “We look forward to drawing on the setup and capabilities that KHBP offers to scale our work, nurture young talent and launch joint programmes that help the industry grow and encourage greater participation.”
THE ARC at the centre of Jordan’s esports push
The deal formalises a relationship that already exists on the ground. According to The Esports Radar, the JEF, which is the government recognised regulator for esports in the country, is based at the park in West Amman.
A lot of that work happens at THE ARC, the arena and gaming dome inside the park. The same report lists past events there including the fourth Arab Esports League, a Women’s Esports Championship and Red Bull Login, which doubled as Jordan’s national final stage in Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2. The venue is also an incubation centre supported by the federation and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, and runs training camps for players hoping to turn professional.
KHBP has been a destination for esports investment for some time. In 2024, lounge operator True Gamers announced plans for an esports venue in Jordan at the business park, a project in which its CPO publicly thanked the JEF and Prince Omar.
The timing also puts Amman in the industry spotlight. PocketGamer.biz points out that Pocket Gamer Connects Jordan takes place on 7 and 8 November, bringing many of the region’s games industry stakeholders to the city later this week.
