Esports tournament organiser StarLadder has announced it will host the second Counter-Strike 2 Major of 2025 in Budapest, Hungary.
The Budapest Major will take place from November 24th to December 14th, 2025.
The opening stages of StarLadder’s Budapest Major will take place at the MTK Sportpark with a capacity for 2,000 spectators. Unlike previous Majors where spectators aren’t in attendance for the opening matches, StarLadder will open its doors to spectators wanting to watch matches across the first three stages.
Playoffs will head to the MVM Dome, a 20,000-seat venue where the eventual winner will be determined.
“Hosting another Major is an incredible honour, and we’re determined to make it unforgettable,” said Roma Romantsov, CEO of StarLadder.
“Budapest gives us the perfect stage to push the boundaries of what a live CS2 event can look and feel like. We invite every Counter-Strike fan to be part of this iconic moment with us.”
The Budapest Major isn’t the first time StarLadder has hosted Counter-Strike’s most prestigious tournament. In 2019, the event organiser hosted Valve’s first-person shooter title’s 15th Major which was won by Danish esports organisation Astralis.
The event is the first held by StarLadder after it was acquired by NODWIN Gaming for $5.5m (~£4.1m) in January.
